China wanted to control foreign vessels in controversial territorial waters

China’s Marine Security Office stated that all foreign vessels are obliged to inform information about the location at the entrance to the “Chinese” territorial water. It is reported by the newspaper South China Morning Post.

It is about controversial waters in Taiwan, Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia and others. The PRC authorities wanted to control all foreign ships and force them to report to the Chinese administration their callsign, as well as transfer information about the transported loads. The Deputy Director of the Chinese National Institute of Studying the South China Sea, Kan Lin noted that the requirement will affect civilian ships used for military purposes.

The application was made due to the exacerbation of tensions between Beijing and Western countries led by the United States. According to the instructor of the People’s Liberation Army of China (NAK) Sun Zhongpina, this requirement standardizes the Office “in the territorial waters of the country” and will improve the possibilities of the PRC to protect their sovereignty. “New rules apply to the East-Chinese Sea, the South China Sea, as well as to the Chinese islands and reefs to regulate the management of these waters,” he stressed.

In Beijing, promised to understand the violators of the requirements in accordance with the Law on the Coast Guard of China. Ships, not submitted to the requirements will be forcibly expelled from territorial waters that Chinese authorities consider their own.

Previously, NAK worked the scenario of a large-scale operation with the participation of different types of troops to attack the island state of Taiwan. The teachings became the official response of Beijing to American military exercises in the South China Sea.

USA holds the most global naval maneuvers since the Cold War of the Large Scale Exercise 2021 (LSE 2021). The exercises take place in order to show the possibilities of the United States to lead the war on several fronts and respond to the aggression of China and Russia.
