The militants of the Radical Movement “Taliban” (a terrorist organization forbidden in Russia) who captured power in Afghanistan, closed the Ministry of Women’s Affairs in Kabul. This is reported by TASS with reference to local television.
According to the information of the Afghan media, instead of the government agency in the building will be located the Ministry of Islamic Call and Orientation, the promotion of the desired and prohibition of reprehensible. This state body existed in the first rule of the Taliban in 1996-2001. Then it was created to make repressively punitive solutions and performed the functions of the “Police of Mravov”.
“Sputnik Afghanistan” indicates that similar functions in the opposite militants of Afghanistan performed another organization – the so-called “ichntisab”. The service was engaged in supervision of the behavior of citizens in public places, as well as persecution on political reasons. Both state authorities caused condemnation both from the local population and the world community.
Previously high-ranking representative “Taliban” said that, according to the new rules, Afghan women should not work with men. Thus, the female population of the republic will lose opportunities to work in government agencies, banks, media and most companies.
