The number of people who died from coronavirus from the beginning of 2021 exceeded the number of deaths for the entire 2020th. This is reported by Edition The Wall Street Journal.

According to the data for June 10, from the beginning of 2021, 1,884 million people died from COVID-19. At the same time, 1,880 million people died from the disease for the entire 2020.

The publication notes that the pandemic hit the poor and developing countries later than the developed, but even before they appeared vaccines. If at the beginning of the year, more than 70 percent of Coronavirus infections accounted for Europe and North America, now about 80 percent of new cases are fixed in South America, Asia and Africa.

According to John Hopkins Research University, the total number of infection with coronavirus in the world from the beginning of the pandemic amounted to almost 175 million. The largest number of victims in the United States, there are 33 million cases. The second place occupies India with 29 million cases, and next – Brazil with 17 million cases.
