German parliament rejected call to abandon “Northern Flow-2”

German Federal Parliament (Bundestag) rejected the design of the petition to revise the policy towards Russia, including to refuse the project “Northern Stream-2”. This is reported by RIA Novosti.

The offer was prepared by the “green” fraction. In particular, politicians demanded “to consistently defend human rights, democracy and the European peaceful device, recognize that new gas pipelines, as” Northern Stream-2 “, are not needed for the energy supply of Europe, and on the contrary, harmful to climate, to stop supporting” Northern Flow 2 “and refuse it.”

Against the project performed all other fractions, except for the abstained SVDP.

June 10 Operator Nord Stream 2 AG reported that the construction of the first Northern Stream-2 gas pipeline is completed. Already on June 11, its filling gas will begin. The company noted that the Trubaska was completed on June 4, and on June 10, the sea sections of the gas pipeline were interconnected by Russia and Germany. Pipe work on the marine part of the second thread still go.

Initially, the launch of the “Northern Flow-2” was scheduled for the end of 2019, but due to American sanctions it had to postpone him several times.
