Scientists revealed effect of Covid-19 on potency

Scientists from Miller’s Medical School University of Miami revealed the impact of COVID-19 on potency. The results of the study showed that the coronavirus is preserved in the tissues of the penis for a long time after recovery, which can lead to erectile dysfunction. This is reported in the WORLD Journal of Men’s Health magazine.

It is noted that one of the consequences of coronavirus infection is endothelial dysfunction. With this condition, the mucous membrane of small blood vessels is disturbed, and the tissue feeds are stopped normally supplied with blood and lose their functions. According to the study, such dysfunction of blood vessels can lead to the development of impotence in men who have suffered COVID-19.

Two men who have suffered a coronavirus took part in the study: one of them was hospitalized, and another had only light symptoms. Scientists have assembled samples of a penis cloth from them and still a couple of men who are not infected with COVID-19 and analyzed all samples. It turned out that Coronavirus was present in the fabrics of the penis of both overdone. These patients had all signs of the endothelium disorder. Healthy men from the control group did not have neither one or the other.

“Men who develop COVID-19 infection should be aware that erectile dysfunction can be an adverse effect of the virus, and they should consult a doctor if they have relevant symptoms,” the Associate Professor of the University of Miami and the Director of the Reproductive Program Urology of the school Miller Ranjet

Previously, the head of the laboratory of genomic engineering Pavel Volochkov warned that the coronavirus could threaten impotence, since the infection strikes almost all organs and tissues of the body. According to him, the degree of lesion depends on how effectively the immune system works. However, destroying the virus, the immune system can affect the tissues of different glands that are involved in the production of genital hormones.
