The report also reveals the number of active PCs on Windows 10 – 1.3 billion devices. According to representatives of the corporation, the main cause of growth was the coronavirus pandemic and the need of consumers in new productive computers. Also early 2020 supported support for popular Windows 7 and part of users was looking for a more powerful PC.
Microsoft’s financial director Emi Hood (Amy Hood) stated that the PC market was “solely strong” despite the shortage of semiconductors necessary for their production. At the same time, Hood believes that the shortage of chips has hit the pace of the Xbox consoles than computers.
The revenue of the company’s branded computers was 1.5 billion dollars, which is 15 percent more than in the previous quarter. At the same time, Microsoft hoped to more impressive financial indicators, but faced with some “problems in production.”

According to the NetMarketShare report for September 2020, 56.4 percent of the users of computers use current Windows 10. In the second and third places with shares of 26.03 and 3.49 percent turned out to be Windows 7 and MacOS 10.15, respectively.
