Director General of Roskosmos State Corporation Dmitry Rogozin congratulates employees of the East Space Center (branch of the center of exploitation of land-based space infrastructure, is included in Roscosmos) and all specialists of the rocket and space industry of Russia with the fifth anniversary of the first launch from the Russian cosmodrome.
East – the newest cosmodrome of Russia, is built at 8,000 kilometers from Moscow and 180 kilometers from Blagoveshchensk. Its area is about 700 square kilometers. In 2016, the construction of objects of the first stage was completed on the cosmodrome, a platform for launch missiles of the Soyuz-2 family was created. Currently, the construction of the second starting site is underway – under the new rocket of the Angara family. Eastern is equipped with the most modern equipment to ensure spacecraft launches.
