In total, 580 people were found to have side effects from the vaccination, mainly among them – fever, nausea and headache. However, seven people were hospitalized with serious complications, two of them died. According to the authorities, the death of one of them is rather unrelated to the vaccine. The cause of death of the other is being established.
One of the victims is an employee of a hospital in the Indian city of Moradabad, he died the day after vaccination.
The relatives of the deceased confirmed that the man felt unwell even before the vaccination.
India’s nationwide coronavirus vaccination campaign began on 16 January. More than 224,000 people were vaccinated in two days, according to representatives of the Ministry of Health. A total of 30 million people should receive the vaccine.
