Ethiopian military launched a powerful attack against Sudanese army

Armed Ethiopian groups with the support of the country’s army carried out a powerful attack on the positions of the Sudanese military on the border of the two states. It is reported by Al-Masdar News, citing sources in the Sudanese army.

According to the agency’s sources, the attack was carried out after a series of intense clashes that have been observed in the region over the past days. It is clarified that the positions of the Sudanese army in the border areas of al-Fasha and al-Sagra were attacked.

It is known that during the attack, Ethiopian groups used heavy artillery. No deaths or injuries were reported.

Last week, the Sudanese army also reported that it suffered some casualties as a result of an attack by Ethiopian forces. It was noted that the Sudanese military was ambushed by Ethiopian militias near the village of Jebel Abu Tayur in Sudan. Then several soldiers were killed, and equipment was also damaged. It was reported that the Sudanese forces came under artillery fire from the Ethiopian groups.

As noted by Al-Masdar News, on December 19, Sudan deployed additional forces to the province of Gedaref in the east of the country bordering Ethiopia. It was planned that the Sudanese military would try to seize the “usurped lands” currently controlled by Ethiopia.
