US Army will equip combat drones with recognition system from Realnetworks

The US military will establish a biometric system of recognition of faces on drones used for observation and intelligence. This was officially announced by the US Department of Defense (DOD).

Acting on behalf of the US Air Force (USAF), the Ministry of Defense concluded a contract with RealnetWorks (Seattle, Washington, USA), to install the SAFR persons recognition system for military drones.

SAFR platform will be adapted to work on autonomous unmanned aerial vehicles (SUAS), designed for special operations, reconnaissance, observation and reconnaissance, and other expeditionary.

SAFR will be integrated with the Suas hardware and software, including on -board computing systems, communication systems and a remote controller to open the possibility of autonomous response of the drone in real time.
