Firefox 149.0.2 Update Fixes Bugs, Freezes

A maintenance release Firefox 149.0.2 has been issued to address 41 vulnerabilities which were identified. The vulnerabilities are related to memory-related issues like buffer overflows and accessing areas of memory already freed. These issues could potentially allow an attacker to execute code by directing users to specially crafted pages.

Along with the security fixes, there are also non-security changes included in this release:

  • Fixed a bug on Linux systems with Wayland where the toolbar would stop responding to mouse clicks after dragging a tab.
  • Addressed a problem causing issues with printing certain elements on web pages, such as drop-down menus and styles.
  • Resolved a problem that was displaying incorrect information on error pages without showing the error code from the server.
  • Fixed a crash related to using certain keys or WebAuthn capabilities for two-factor authentication (source).
  • Corrected text offset issues within SVG graphics (source).
  • Addressed a bug where the “Send to” function was not working from open tab section of Firefox View page (source).
