MiniOS Flux 5.1 Distribution Released

The release of the distribution minios Flux 5.1 was recently presented, featuring a minimalist edition with the Fluxbox window manager and inspired by the SLAX distribution. This distribution utilizes a modular architecture that enables users to create customized configurations tailored to specific tasks.

Available in compact images based on various versions of Debian, the release supports the AMD64 and i386 architectures:

Key changes in version 5.1.0 include:

  • Restoration of the Syslinux menu for BIOS loading with multi-language support and integrated reference documentation in supported languages (English, German, Spanish, French, Indonesian, Italian, Portuguese, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian).
  • Enhancements in permanent storage support include parameter size options (MB, GB, TB), maximum Dynfilefs size set to 1TB, and improved messaging for permanent storage mode.
  • Normal booting in the Ventoy environment with symbolic links for compatibility, optimized conditional GRUB loading based on the LockDown status.
  • Updates to various utilities such as the minios installer, tools, kernel manager, and Flux tools to improve functionality and multilingual support.
  • Enhanced compatibility of built-in utilities with older versions, reducing the version requirement to 4.4.
