Openmohaa 0.82.0 Launches: Open Engine for MoH: AA

The latest production of the project openmohaa 0.82.0 has been published, recreating the engine for the game “Medal of Honor: Allied Assault” using the open engine ioquake3. The project is written in C/C++ and is distributed under the GPLv2 license. Ready assemblies for Linux and Windows can be found here.

The Openmohaa 0.82.0 release is notable for implementing a modern navigation system for bots based on recast navigation which improves the quality and speed of building routes. This release also includes an MSI-installer for Windows, enhanced logging capabilities, an automatic check for updates, and notification output through the server console, with the ability for the server to notify clients of the need to update.

Furthermore, the network game functionality through GameSpy has been restored, allowing for the addition of multiple Master servers, including the 333networks server which supports multiplayer gaming. Various improvements have been made to enhance modding capabilities and fix errors, including compatibility with game saves from previous engine versions.
