According to data from the service StatCounter, which monitors global statistics on the use of web browsers, the share of Linux distributions in the USA (5.03%) and Germany (5.47%) has exceeded 5% for the first time. These statistics are collected from a meter placed on 1.5 million sites.
In India, the share of Linux has decreased to 8.77% (compared to 17.25% in September of last year). Globally, the share of Linux is currently estimated at 4.1%, with the peak value of 4.48% reached in September of last year. Since September 2024, there has been a decrease in the popularity of the Chromeos OS, with the global share declining from 2.25% to 1.25%, and the share in the USA dropping from 5.53% to 2.71%.

- In the Steam delivery service, the share of Linux users stands at 2.57% (compared to 2.08% a year ago and 1.44% two years ago). ARCH Linux is the leading distribution with 0.27% usage (serving as the base of Steam OS), followed by Linux Mint 22.1 at 0.20%, Ubuntu Core 22 at 0.11%, Ubuntu 24.04.2 at 0.11%, Manjaro Linux at 0.06%, Endavouros at 0.6%, and Debian GNU/Linux 12 at 0.05%.
