Russian Foreign Ministry spoke out about involvement of Iran to attack on vessel Mercer Street

Western countries should present evidence of the accusations of Iran’s involvement in the attack on the Mercer Street ship. Otherwise, their statements will be deprived of grounds. This was announced by the Director of the Second Department of Asia Foreign Ministry of Russia Zamir Kabulov. His words report RIA Novosti.

Diplomat noted that Russia has not yet developed its position on the incident. Also Kabulov said that Tehran did not apply to Moscow for assisting in the investigation of the incident. He believes that the government of Iran did not even have time for the reaction, because “everything broke out in the last couple of days.”

Earlier in the UK Foreign Ministry, the Iranian ambassador in London was called to demand Iran to stop doing “provocative actions that threaten international peace and security.” Tehran deny its involvement in the incident with the Japanese tanker in the Arabian Sea. Also, the authorities of the Islamic Republic warned that their country will respond to any attempt to break its sovereignty.

1 and 2 August Romania, Israel, USA and the United Kingdom condemned Iran for the bombing of the Mercer Street oil tanker in the Arabian Sea, near Oman. The Japanese ship, which went under the flag of Liberia and the Zodiac Group managed by the Israeli operator, fell under the blow of one or more drone. As a result, two crew members were killed – the Great Britain and a citizen of Romania. All four countries stated that they coordinate their actions for the “proper response” of Iran.
