Mintner Cinnamon in Debian moved to use of KDE

Norbert Praping ( Norbert Preining ) announced about removing powers to create packets with new versions of the Cinnamon desktop for Debian due to the fact that it stopped using Cinnamon on his system and moved to KDE. Since Nubert does not use Cinnamon anymore anymore, it cannot provide high-quality package testing in real working conditions.

At one time, Norbert moved from GNOME3 to Cinnamon because of usability for advanced users in GNOME3. For a while, the combination of Cinnamon conservative interface with modern GNOME technologies arranged Nubert, but experiments with KDE have shown that this environment meets its needs anymore.
KDE Plasma is characterized by Nubert as a more easy, fast, responsive and customized environment. It is already started with the formation of fresh builds with KDE for Debian Prepared in the OBS service and intends to quickly download packages with KDE Plasma 5.22 in the Debian Unstable branch.

Norbert expressed his readiness for the residual principle to continue the support of existing packages with CINNAMON 4.X for Debian 11 “Bullseye”, but does not intend to form packages with CINNAMON 5 and conduct any serious work associated with CINNAMON.
