US President Joe Biden will reconsider relations with China. This was stated by the press secretary of the White House Jen Psaki, the broadcast of the briefing was conducted by the NBC channel.
“All the steps that were taken by the previous administration are currently being reviewed in terms of our approach to national security,” Psaki said. Thus, the revision included, among other things, the trade deal with China, concluded by former President Donald Trump.
According to a White House spokesman, the new administration plans to approach relations with Beijing from a position of strength. “This involves coordinating and discussing with our allies and partners how we will work with China,” Psaki said.
In January 2020, the US and China entered into the “first phase” of a comprehensive deal. Under its terms, Beijing pledged to buy more American goods, mostly agricultural.
