Syrian Foreign Minister dies

At the age of 79, Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem died. This was reported by Reuters with reference to the country’s television.

No details or reasons for the death of the diploma were disclosed.

At the end of September, at the general political debates of the UN General Assembly, Muallem accused Turkey of supporting the terrorists of the Jabhat al-Nusra group (banned in Russia). Also, according to him, work is underway to “Turkize” the Syrian territories.

Muallem has served as Syrian Foreign Minister since 2006. He also headed the Department of Expatriate Affairs.
