Neurologist explains effect of mat on brain

The body perceives the use of a mat as aggression. This emotion allows you to partially numb the pain experienced. In addition, thanks to obscene vocabulary, the central nervous system is stimulated. Neurologist, neurophysiologist Alexander Budik spoke about this in an interview with the radio Sputnik . p>

He explained that aggression brings a person into a state of stress, against the background of which the body may not notice even severe pain. Athletes experience a similar condition, continuing to fight even after being injured. “That in a normal state there will be severe pain for a person, he will not feel in an excited state,” the doctor explained.

At the same time, being constantly under the influence of stress is harmful for the body. This creates unnecessary stress on the nervous and cardiovascular systems. To numb the pain, you can simply shift your focus.

“In the theater, we will not swear, we will observe the norms of decency. Instead, we will begin to pay attention to others, and thus our pain will be perceived less acutely,” – cited Budik as an example.

Earlier, German scientists conducted an experiment , during which people lowered their hand into ice water and, in order to reduce pain, shouted obscene words or those in tune with them. Those who shouted the words that were in tune did not change their perception of pain.
