Dodon congratulates Sanda on winning presidential elections in Moldova

The current President of Moldova Igor Dodon congratulated the leader of the Action and Solidarity party Maia Sandu with a preliminary victory in the presidential elections. This was reported by RIA Novosti .

“Preliminary results showed that Maia Sandu won. I congratulate her on her preliminary victory, but the end of the electoral process will be completed when all reports of violations are verified,” Dodon said at a briefing.

On Sunday, November 15, the second round of the presidential elections took place in Moldova. According to preliminary data, after processing 100 percent of protocols from polling stations, Sandu gains 57.75 percent of the vote, Dodon – 42.25 percent.

Sandu has already declared about her victory. “I am proud of my team and all the young people who took part in the vote,” she said.

The first round of the presidential elections took place on November 1. Dodon won 32 percent of the vote, Sandu 36 percent. The turnout was 42.7 percent (1.2 million people).
