Several antibody-based drugs may appear in Russia for the treatment of patients with coronavirus, testing of one drug will begin next fall, said the head of the Gamaleya Center Alexander Gintsburg . This was reported by RIA Novosti on Monday, December 28.

According to Gunzburg, the drug will be used as a dropper, the effect of it is expected to appear in 7-10 days. The medicine will be many times more expensive than the vaccine, he said.

“Various technologies are used to obtain these antibodies, the drug is already clinical. They have slightly different properties. You will never know in advance which property will be better and which drug will have advantages,” he said.

In response to a question about the possible risks from the use of the drug, the specialist noted that “this is what clinical trials are for.”
