Son found father after 11 years of separation thanks to one photo

In the English city of Liverpool, 23-year-old son Jason Kelly found his father after years of separation. Local newspaper Liverpool Echo reports.

The young man said that 11 years ago, his parents divorced, and a father named David left home. After that, his son did not see him again. Jason has only one photograph of the missing parent. He posted a picture of his father on Facebook and asked netizens to help locate him.

One of the users wrote to Jason and said he knew the location of the man in the photo. On Christmas Eve, December 24, the son arrived at the address where, as it turned out, his father had lived for the last five years. The young man was met by an elderly woman in her 70s and said that David did live in her house, but now he was away on business.

Jason was about to leave his phone number and say goodbye when he noticed his father returning from a morning run. “Up to a certain point he tried not to look at me, because his eyes immediately filled with tears,” the young man recalls. “I behave the same way when something like this happens to me.”

It turned out that for a long time David wandered and slept on the street, left without documents and money. For the past five years, the man has been living in the house of his friends. Although he reached retirement age, he never received payments. Jason wants to help him get back on his feet, in particular, to restore his birth certificate and open a bank account.

After celebrating Christmas with his mother, brother and sister, Jason collected a portion of the food from the holiday table and took it to 67-year-old David. He also gave his father a mobile phone so they could keep in touch.

Earlier it was reported that a family from Brazil recognized a homeless man as a missing ten years ago, a relative after a photo of his charity haircut went viral on social media. João Coelho Guimares disappeared in 2010 and wandered the streets for ten years collecting trash to survive.
