Ukrainians appreciate similarity of foreign leaders to Grinch – stolen of Christmas

Ukrainians were jokingly offered to choose a foreign leader for the role of the Grinch – the thief of Christmas. This list includes several people at once, according to data of a joint sociological survey of the Democratic Initiatives Foundation and KIIS.

So, the residents of the country were asked the question: “Which of the foreign leaders is more suitable for the role of the thief of Christmas this year?” 28 percent of respondents chose the President of Russia Vladimir Putin , eight percent – the President of the United States Donald Trump , and seven percent rated the Grinch’s similarity with the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko . The list for this role also includes an American financier George Soros (six percent) and leader of North Korea Kim Jong-un (three percent).

It is noted that 29 percent of respondents found it difficult to answer the question, and another 14 percent said that there is no suitable candidate for this role.

In addition, sociologists found out whose New Year greetings Ukrainians would like to hear at the festive table. The first place in the ranking was taken by the current president of the country Vladimir Zelensky (54 percent). One and a half percent of respondents voted for Putin, for the chief sanitary doctor of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko – two percent.

According to sociologists, in total, 2004 people from all Ukrainian regions took part in the study, with the exception of the uncontrolled territories in Donbass. The poll was conducted by the method of personal interview, its statistical error does not exceed 3.3 percent.

The Grinch Stole Christmas is a fabulous character in the movie of the same name, released on the screen in 2000. According to the plot, the green creature lives completely alone on a high mountain and gets annoyed when the inhabitants of the city of Ktograd rejoice at the arrival of the holiday. Subsequently, the Grinch decides to steal Christmas from the townspeople, but then reconciles and celebrates the holiday with them.
