Russia could not spend a trillion

The Government of Russia , within the framework of the execution of the federal budget, could not fulfill all In 2020 expenses and will not spend about a trillion rubles, said the Minister of Finance Anton Siluanov , quoted by RBC.

Funds not spent in 2020 will be carried over to the next year and will also be used to vaccinate the population. According to Siluanov, a trillion rubles consists of 300 billion prisoners, but not yet executed government contracts, 140 billion unpaid spending by law enforcement agencies, 70 billion targeted inter-budgetary transfers to regions, as well as 400-450 billion rubles of accumulated funds, which in 2021 will be directed to government reserve fund.

The total expenditures of the federal budget will amount to 22.8-22.9 trillion rubles instead of 23.8 trillion provided for in the revised version of the document. Compared to the initial version of the budget, adopted before the start of the coronavirus pandemic, government spending has increased by almost three trillion rubles.

According to Siluanov’s forecasts, the federal budget deficit in 2020 will amount to 3.9 percent of GDP, revenues – 18.6-18.7 trillion rubles.
