Experts called the high cost and abuse of 5G as the main disadvantages of current smartphones, reports the Android Authority.

The authors have noticed that gadget manufacturers are setting too high a cost for flagship smartphones, which is largely due to the introduction of 5G. At the same time, many abuse the fifth generation communication standard by adding the word 5G to the name of any device.
Also, journalists were not satisfied that device manufacturers are participating in an unspoken camera race, seeking to release a smartphone with a large number of lenses. In this regard, companies are equipping their devices with a third or fourth sensor to provide a numerical advantage over competing models. “I would like more manufacturers to choose not quantity, but quality,” the note says.
Among other things, the authors were upset by the fast charging power of many smartphones, which stopped near the 20-watt mark. According to journalists, in 2021 smartphones must support at least 30 watts of charging capacity. Separately, Samsung, which produces flagships with a plastic case, was criticized: “This is not what you want to see in a $ 1000 device.”
Manufacturers were advised to keep their devices with OS updates for longer, as the smartphone update cycle increased amid the economic crisis and COVID-19. The authors also criticized many manufacturers that produce a large number of smartphones that are almost indistinguishable from each other. “We really need seven or eight variants of the Xiaomi Redmi 9, when is half enough?” – noted the journalists.
