Deputy State Duma Natalya Poklonskaya reacted to the detention of the former schema-monk Sergius (Romanov), who was called her confessor. She stated that the investigation, prosecutors and the court should investigate this case. Her words are quoted by “Rise”.
“What I saw on YouTube is to die for Russia, all deeds are scary and very dangerous. People are trying to find the right ways of faith in the church, but they hear such sermons. (…) This year is very difficult, also such sermons – they are even more injected into depresnyak “, – said Poklonskaya, explaining why she considered the detention of Father Sergius justified.
On the night of December 29, the disgraced former schema-monk Sergius was detained by special forces. Later he was deprived of the rank of schema-abbot and accused of seizing the monastery. In relation to Sergius, several pre-investigation checks began at once on the fact of reports of possible crimes that he, presumably, committed in the monastery, including reports on the torture of children in the monastery he had seized.
