Europeans bought a million electric vehicles

In 2020, Europeans bought over a million electric vehicles. The leaders are Volkswagen, Renault and Tesla, writes 3dnews .

Total sales grew 198 percent in 11M 2020 over the same period last year. Electric cars accounted for 10 percent of all new car sales in Europe. Sales of battery-powered vehicles increased 182 percent.

Earlier it became known that the price turned out to be the main deterrent factor for Russians in buying an electric car. Respondents consider electric cars too expensive, they also dislike the lack of charging infrastructure and long refueling times. The solution to the problem may be subsidies, which should cover at least 20 percent of the cost of the car, experts say.
