Doctor-narcologist Alexey Kazantsev revealed in an interview with Channel Five the ways get rid of a hangover syndrome on the morning of a festive feast and warned Russians against trying to “get drunk”.

According to him, an attempt to “get drunk” with beer can lead to prolonged binge drinking. The expert clarified that it is necessary to take a contrast shower to improve health.

In addition, you need to drink mineral water and eat high-protein foods, for example, not overcooked omelet. However, the doctor advised against drinking coffee and milk, especially for those who have problems with the gastrointestinal tract.

The narcologist also recommended taking vitamins and minerals, including potassium and magnesium, throughout the day. In addition, you can take medications that contain succinic or citric acids, as they accelerate the detoxification of the body. For those suffering from a hangover, leisurely walks in the fresh air will help, the specialist concluded.

Previously chief freelance specialist in therapy and general medical practice Ministry of Health of Russia Oksana Drapkina stated that alcohol should be consumed in moderation on holidays. Drapkina also recommended alternating alcoholic drinks with non-alcoholic ones, but urged not to drink alcohol at all if possible, since this rule is not mandatory for the New Year.
