A paramedic who helped victims of an accident died in Moscow region

An ambulance paramedic died in an accident near Serpukhov in the Moscow region, who was helping those injured in another accident, reports the local prosecutor’s office, RIA Novosti reports.

The incident took place on the morning of January 1 on the A-108 road. A VAZ-2112 car crashed into an ambulance, which was at the scene of the accident at that moment. The paramedic died, the ambulance driver and inspector traffic police were injured.

It is also clarified that the first accident injured three people who were trapped in the car.

A criminal case was initiated on violation of traffic rules. According to the MIA General Administration for the region, the VAZ driver was drunk.

Earlier it was reported that the death rate on the roads of the Moscow region decreased by 11 percent in 2020, the number of road traffic accidents dropped nine percent. Vice-Governor Igor Treskov recalled that in 2020, on behalf of the Governor Andrey Vorobyov over two thousand kilometers of roads have been repaired in the region, 12 have been opened since the beginning of the year expensive.
