Renowned open source software developer appointed as CIO at White House

Newly elected new US President Joe Biden appointed David Recordon ( David Recordon ) as director
on information technology in the White House (Director of White House Information Technology).

David was part of the core PHP development team, led the development of the Phabricator code review platform, and was one of the leaders of the Apache Cassandra, Apache Thrift and HipHop projects. David is also known for developing the OpenID and OAuth protocols. Prior to joining the White House, David Recordon oversaw open-source projects at Facebook and served there as director of engineering. In 2015-2016, David already served as CIO at the White House during the presidency of Barack Obama.
