Johnson calls US protests “shameful scenes”

The British Prime Minister Boris Johnson called the capture of the Capitol in Washington by supporters of the current President of the United States Donald Trump with “shameful scenes.” He wrote about this in his Twitter -account.

“The United States defends democracy around the world, and a peaceful and orderly transfer of power is vital now,” the politician wrote.

Protesters broke into the Capitol building and surrounded the Senate Hall on January 6. The Senate and House of Representatives have interrupted the meeting, which was planned to approve the results of the electoral college vote. According to these results, the Democrat Joe Biden won the presidential elections. Trump himself has called on supporters to act peacefully and support the police. Later, the Capitol building in Washington was cleared of protesters.
