World Bank estimates growth rate of Russian economy in 2021

According to the bank’s estimates, Russia’s GDP growth this year will amount to 2.6 percent. The document notes that the growth of the Russian economy will be facilitated by mass vaccinations, higher prices for raw materials for heavy industry and the maintenance of economic support measures. At the same time, in 2022, the country’s GDP growth rate will increase to three percent.

Earlier press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that the country’s economy has fallen significantly against the backdrop of the coronavirus pandemic. At the same time, Peskov stressed that the Russian economy sagged less than in other countries. He noted that they will correct the situation in the spring of 2021.
