Expected successor to mayor of Yakutsk says ready to participate in elections

First Deputy Mayor of Yakutsk Sardana Avksentieva, who announced her resignation for health reasons, Evgeny Grigoriev announced her readiness to participate in the elections for the head of the city. He wrote about this in Instagram -account following a meeting with Avksentieva and the head of Yakutia Aisen Nikolaev .

According to the expected successor, they supported his decision to run for mayor of Yakutsk. He also noted that he is confident in the team – deputy mayors, heads of structural and territorial divisions. “I would be glad to see your suggestions, criticism, ideas – nothing without your support,” he concluded.

Avksentieva in her Instagram -account added that the head of Yakutia supports Grigoriev’s candidacy, “as one of the young leaders and leaders of the city, well proven in real work. ” She agreed to become an advisor to Grigoriev, but only on a voluntary basis.

Avksentieva announced her early resignation due to her health condition on January 11. It is planned that the resignation will be accepted on January 14. Her press secretary clarified that the decision was made without the participation of third parties, and no pressure was exerted on the head of the city.

The mayor of the city admitted that she can no longer work 24 hours a day all year round. Soon the head of the city is going to go to the hospital, where she will undergo surgery. The Yakutsk administration said that the head of the city had problems with the cardiovascular system, because of which she decided to resign. In the fall of 2020, Avksentieva underwent a medical examination, which revealed a deviation from the norm in a number of tests.

The head of Yakutia wished the mayor a speedy recovery and said that he understood her decision.
