Passenger plane that disappeared from radar crashed

A passenger plane that departed from Jakarta, which disappeared from radar shortly after takeoff, crashed, presumably there were 62 people on board. This was reported by Xinhua News Agency on Saturday, January 9.

According to the agency, the plane fell into the water.

There is no information about the possible presence of Russians on board the aircraft yet, the Russian Embassy reported.

Flight SJ182 departed Jakarta for Potianak at 14:37 local time. The service data Flight Radar show that four minutes after departure the flight altitude is in a matter of seconds it has decreased by more than three thousand meters.

The deceased Boeing 737-500 has been in operation for over 25 years, it made its first flight in May 1994.
