Iran bans coronavirus vaccines from UK and America

Iran has banned COVID-19 vaccines from the UK and the US. This was stated by the Supreme Leader of Iran Ali Khamenei , reports RIA Novosti .

According to him, the import of drugs into the country is prohibited. Now Iran is independently developing vaccines against coronavirus. The first is expected in the spring, and two or three more drugs are planned to be produced by the summer.

In December 2020, the United States gave consent to unblock Iran’s assets for purchase vaccines against COVID-19. According to the Governor of the Central Bank of Iran, Abdulnasser Hemmati, the Americans themselves imposed sanctions on all banks in the country.

Earlier, Great Britain was the first in the world approved the vaccine of AstraZeneca and Oxford University. Chapter Ministry of Health Matt Hancock hopes the majority of the UK population will receive the drug by spring, which will accelerate the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
