Norilsk: search work at site of avalanche ended

Rescuers have completed search work in the area of ​​an avalanche at a camp site near Norilsk after finding the body of the last missing person. This was reported to journalists in the press service of the main department EMERCOM of Russia in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, writes “Interfax” .

The department clarified that about 250 people were involved in the search: volunteers, the grouping of the Dudinsky Arctic search and rescue team of the Ministry of Emergencies, employees of the Krasnoyarsk Aviation Rescue Center and rescuers of the Siberian Regional Search and Rescue Team. The work lasted more than a day.

It is also known that the investigators re-qualified the criminal case on the death and injury of people during an avalanche in Norilsk to a more serious article – part 3 of Art. 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements, resulting in the death of two or more persons by negligence.”

Earlier it became known that under the snow mass they found a man’s body, and also a one and a half year old child. Prior to that, rescuers got out from under the snow a woman with no signs of life and a teenager in serious condition. It is known that all the dead and the injured are members of the same family.

An avalanche in the area of ​​a ski resort in the Krasnoyarsk Territory became known on the evening of January 8. She covered six guest houses that did not belong to the complex and were rented out. One of them contained a family of four, including two children. It was also reported that two people got out of the snow on their own, but received various injuries.
