Zakharova substantiated need to introduce new sanctions

Official representative Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova substantiated the need to introduce new sanctions against other countries. She told about this in the “Special Guest” program with Tina Kandelaki on YouTube -channel RTVI.

According to her, Russia is not trying to overtake anyone in this matter, but only responds to such measures addressed to itself. Zakharova noted that Russia does not seek to go “along the road of sanctions, confrontations and so on.” A ministry spokesperson explained that each time the Russian authorities, responding to the imposition of sanctions against the country, emphasize that this is “not their choice.” She added that Russia favors completely different methods of interaction in the international arena.

Zakharova also told that Russophobia in the United States is one of the key factors internal political struggle. She explained that this practice is part of the electoral cycle and is observed during election campaigns.
