Greece introduced priority vaccination of officials and refused it

The Greek government abandoned the previously introduced priority vaccination of officials due to the negative reaction of some citizens. This was announced by the deputy official representative of the government Aristotelia Peloni on the air of the radio station Parapolitika, reports RIA Novosti .

According to Peloni, 66 out of 128 officials were vaccinated against the coronavirus, who were originally planned to be vaccinated. “This closes the list,” she said, noting that the remaining politicians will receive vaccinations according to the schedule provided by the national immunization committee for the entire population.

The initiative was originally intended to show that the fears of the consequences of the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine used in Greece are groundless. However, after vaccinating some of the officials, a number of media outlets criticized this step, saying that politicians receive the vaccine instead of doctors.

The coronavirus vaccination in Greece began on December 27. For all the time, 137.9 thousand cases of infection were detected in the country.
