Epidemiologist explained data on mortality from coronavirus voiced by Golikova

When collecting mortality statistics from coronavirus, an analysis of all deaths is carried out, therefore, according to its results, the data may increase. This was stated by Professor of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology of the Moscow State Medical University named after Evdokimov Irina Shestakova , reports URA.RU.

This is how Shestakova explained why the data on death from coronavirus announced by Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova , turned out to be higher than those provided by the operational headquarters.

The epidemiologist added that the cause of death was the first of the diagnoses, but the second most likely coronavirus could have been the cause of death.

Earlier, Golikova reported that in Russia, since the beginning of the pandemic, they died from coronavirus 70 921 people, in another 45 109 cases the virus did not become the main cause of death, but the patients had positive tests. At the same time, according to the portal stopkoronavirus.rf, 56,426 patients with coronavirus have died in Russia since the beginning of the pandemic.
