Ministry of Health of Ukraine announced full readiness for vaccination against coronavirus

The Minister of Health of Ukraine Maxim Stepanov announced that the country is fully ready to conduct vaccination campaign against coronavirus, reports “Strana.ua”.

According to him, Ukraine has already completed all the preparatory measures for a large-scale immunization campaign, and the state is ready to start immediate vaccination, regardless of the drug that the country receives. “We will soon announce the signing of contracts with manufacturing companies directly,” the minister said.

Stepanov added that the immunization of Ukrainians should be started as soon as possible. He explained that the main problem in negotiations on the vaccine is the issue of the delivery time of the drug to the country. “It is very important for us to get these vaccines as soon as possible,” he stressed.

Ukraine expects to receive more than 8 million doses of the drug from Europe from Pfizer . Its first tranche will amount to about 1.2 million vaccines. The immunization campaign in the country will be carried out in four phases: from January to April, from April to June, from June to September and from September to March 2022.

Earlier, Stepanov said that the authorities also intend to vaccinate residents of the DPR and LPR who have Ukrainian citizenship against coronavirus. According to him, at the moment the department is developing a strategy for immunization in the “occupied territories”. Vaccinations are likely to take place in the conflict zone controlled by Kiev.
