Escaped cat returned home on anniversary of death of owner’s son

A resident of the American state of Minnesota told how her runaway cat returned home on the anniversary of her son’s death. Her story was shared by The Bemidji Pioneer.

Deb Mosberger lost her youngest 18-year-old son named Vincent on December 9, 2002. He died in an accident due to the fault of a drunk driver. The young man was very fond of animals, so there were always a lot of cats in the family.

On November 5, 2020, one of the Mosberger cats named Abe did not return from a walk. At first, the owners were not very worried, however, when the pet did not appear the next morning, they began to worry. The Americans interviewed all neighbors, posted ads and asked animal protection organizations for help.

On December 9, the 18th anniversary of her son’s death, Deb woke up and said, “Okay Winnie, it would be really nice if you brought Abe home.” During the day, she told several people that the cat would definitely return thanks to the help of the deceased. In the end, around 5 pm, Abe actually came home.

In five weeks of vagrancy, the cat has lost a lot of weight. He mewed heart-rendingly all night and did not leave the hostess. After a while, Abe began to slowly recover from the shock.

Mosbergers suggest that the cat could have climbed into the back of a truck and gone somewhere far away.

Deb claims that after the return of the cat, she fell in love with December again – she used to hate this month because of the death of her son, father and mother. “Now 2020 does not seem so bad either,” she said.

Previously it was reported that a domestic cat in Thailand disappeared and returned home through three days with a note of debt. As it turned out, the owner of the fish store fed him mackerel.
