A blind dog walked for five days in cold to a man he loved

A dog from Poland escaped from the new owner and walked for five days in the cold to the house of a volunteer she loved, who took her from the shelter for overexposure, reports the Daily Star.

12-year-old blind mongrel named Gary was caught on the streets four years ago, all this time she spent in an animal shelter. In November 2020, the dog was taken for overexposure by a volunteer of the charity organization for animal rescue “Paka dla Zwierzaka” in the city of Gdansk.

Gary began to get used to the new owner and the neighbour’s children, but three weeks later an elderly man approached a charity organization who wanted to shelter a dog. He made a contract and took the dog.

Just a day after Gary found a new home, he broke free of his collar and fled. Volunteers organized searches and distributed advertisements in stores and online.

Three days later, Gary was seen eight kilometers north of Zhukovo. One of the girls Gary befriended while he was overexposed found him sleeping in the woods in the freezing cold just a few meters from the house where he spent three weeks.

“Gary chose his own family, and we respect his decision. He will stay with his temporary owners forever. The man who wanted to shelter him understands the situation, and we will find him a new friend,” Suodnik noted.

Earlier it was reported that the dog that the owners accidentally forgot at the technical station service 60 kilometers from the Chinese city of Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, came home after 26 days. Now she lives with her family again and is surrounded by love.
