Scientists explain cases of re-diagnosis of COVID-19

Scientists from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University explained the cases of COVID re-diagnosis -19. This is reported in the scientific journal Science.

This can be explained by the fact that the genetic material of the coronavirus infection, presumably, is partially incorporated into the chromosomes of human cells. Scientists noted that this happens with other viruses. “All viruses insert their genetic material into the cell they infect, but it usually stays separate from the cell’s DNA,” the study said.

Experts have partially recreated such a penetration of the coronavirus genetic material into the chromosome of a human cell in laboratory conditions. The researchers clarified that the results they obtained do not mean that SARS-CoV-2 permanently remains at the genetic level in human cells to reproduce constantly, like HIV.

Earlier, a group of scientists from Iceland discovered another symptom of coronavirus. So, according to researchers, more than half of patients with COVID-19 had myalgia. This symptom manifests itself in pain in muscles, tendons, ligaments, soft connective tissues, as well as bones and organs. Myalgia was observed in 55 percent of patients in Iceland, who were examined from March 17 this year to April 30.
