A huge lizard attacked builder of “Jurassic Park”

On the Indonesian island of Rincha, a Komodo dragon attacked the builder of a resort inspired by the dinosaur park from the movie Jurassic Park, reports The Independent.

Elias Agas, 46, sustained serious injuries in the attack and was evacuated to hospital in a speedboat. This is not the first incident during construction: in October, a photo of a huge pangolin appeared on Instagram, which stood in the path of a truck.

The resort under construction began to be compared with the “Jurassic Park” after its architects published a video with the recognizable music from a movie about dinosaurs. It was shown that ditches will be dug in the territory to protect against monitor lizards.

Komodo monitor lizards are the largest modern lizards. Their length can exceed three meters and weigh 80 kilograms. They are protected by law in Indonesia. Rincha Island, part of the Komoda National Park, is home to thousands of monitor lizards.

In 2019 it was reported that two Komodo lizards fought on the Rinch the eyes of tourists. During the fight, the animals got up on their hind legs and shoved each other with their front legs. One of the monitor lizards managed to knock the other down and press him to the ground.
