Winter update of ALT p9 starter kits

Available seventh edition starter kits kits on the Ninth Platform Alt. These images are suitable for getting started with a stable repository for advanced users who prefer to define their own list of application packages and customize the system (up to creating their own derivatives). Distributed as composite works under the terms of the GPLv2 + license. Variants of include a base system and one of the desktop environments or a set of specialized applications.

Assemblies prepared for i586, x86_64, aarch64 and armh architectures. Additionally available assemblies for the mipsel architecture in versions for the Tavolga and BFK3 systems on the “Baikal-T1” processor. Owners of VK Elbrus based on 4C and 8C / 1C + processors have access to a number of starter kits . Also collected are options for Engineering on p9 – Live with engineering software and cnc-rt – Live with real-time kernel and LinuxCNC for x86_64.

Changes since September release:

  • Linux kernel std-def 5.4.81 and un -def 5.7.19, in cnc-rt – kernel-image-rt 4.19.160;

  • ISO images of x86_64 in UEFI mode are now loaded using grub-efi instead of rEFInd;
  • fixed adding layouts for be_BY and uk_UA locales when loading livecd, broken in release 20191212 when switching to alt + shift. Layout switching using alt + shift is left only for ru_RU;
  • fixes in alerator-vm and libevms to improve support for existing (or bugs from) RAID / LVM in the installer;
  • mcom02: instead of rootfs archives, img images are collected and the root expands to the entire flash drive on the second boot, like images for Raspberry Pi 4;

Known issues:

  • on Raspberry Pi 3 with kernels un-def, lts, ​​mp, when using pulseaudio, you must turn off one of the audio cards (headphones or HDMI), otherwise the computer will turn off for a long time and sound may be lost due to frozen pulseaudio.
