Swingers convention linked to Covid-19 cluster

In the US state of New Orleans, swingers organized a convention for 300 people and became infected with the coronavirus en masse. After the party, more than 40 participants were diagnosed with COVID-19, organizer Bob Hannafond said.

He noted that he tried to do everything to make the party as safe as possible. However, after it, one by one, he began to receive messages from participants about a positive test for coronavirus.

According to Hannafond, the organizers of the party provided social distance at the entrance, non-contact body temperature check, disinfection, and also gave special bracelets to those who passed the test and reported the presence of antibodies to COVID-19, and those who reported the recent test for a virus with a negative result.

However, as the organizer noted, he does not know for certain how many people were infected: not all were tested and not all of those who passed reported the result to him.

In June, the sex festival for swingers, which was supposed to be the largest in Europe, canceled due to new regulations introduced amid the spread of the coronavirus.
