Businessman wrote to family “COVID-19 finished me off” and committed suicide

A financial consultant from the English city of York wrote to the family “COVID-19 finished me off” and took his own life. The Daily Mail reports.

55-year-old businessman Nick Gunnell (Nick Gunnell) was the victim of the crisis that occurred in the country amid a new coronavirus infection. The quarantine imposed by the pandemic destroyed his business, which he had run for about 30 years. Because of this, the man began to suffer from anxiety and sleep problems.

According to surveillance footage obtained by the police, he committed suicide on June 30 at about 1 pm after he wrote a farewell note to his family.

Later it became known that before the coronavirus, Gunnell planned to sell the business and travel with his wife to the islands of Greece. However, the pandemic ruined all of his plans and brought him to suicidal thoughts.

“Nick Gunnell tried to live to the maximum and was a wonderful husband, father, stepfather, brother, uncle and a wonderful friend for many,” said his brother Jez.

Earlier it was reported that in the Thai province of Mahasarakham, a woman committed suicide after of how she was left without income during the epidemic of a new coronavirus infection. Her brother found her while she was still alive and took her to the hospital, but the woman died on the way.
