US breaks daily record for coronavirus deaths

In the United States, the record for deaths per day from complications caused by coronavirus infection has been broken – 3157 people. is evidenced by data published by Johns Hopkins University.

It is noted that the previous maximum rate in the United States was recorded in April. An upward trend in deaths from COVID-19 is also observed in Brazil (almost 700 deaths per day) and Mexico (an average of 800 deaths per day).

Earlier on December 3, the presidential candidate from US Democratic Party Joe Biden predicted the death of another 250,000 Americans from COVID-19 by the end of the year. On November 30, the US Secretary of Health and Human Services Alex Azar announced that the first two vaccines from the SARS-СoV-2 coronavirus will be available to Americans in the coming weeks. He noted that vaccinations could begin before Christmas.

The United States remains the country with the highest number of coronavirus cases in the world: nearly 14 million. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 1.5 million people have died worldwide, 42 million people have recovered.
