Biden plans to re-establish nuclear deal with Iran

The US presidential candidate Joe Biden conceived to restore the nuclear deal with Iran. He spoke about this in an interview for The New York Times .

According to him, the future administration wants to cooperate with allies and partners, participate in negotiations and develop additional agreements. Thus, Biden hopes to extend the restrictions on Iran’s nuclear and missile programs. In addition, the democrat thought about lifting the anti-Iranian sanctions imposed by the current US President Donald Trump .

According to Biden, security in the region can only be ensured by an agreement that can control Tehran’s nuclear development. Otherwise, other countries will also strive for such development: for example, Saudi Arabia and Turkey. “Building up the nuclear potential in this part of the world is the last thing we want,” the politician said.

On November 28, US intelligence officers tied up the assassination of Iranian nuclear physicist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh with Biden’s plans to restore relations with Tehran. Probably, Israel and the current administration of President Donald Trump wanted to prevent a major change in US policy towards Iran under Biden and Washington’s return to participation in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). The United States withdrew from the agreement in 2018 and at the same time reinstated sanctions against Iran in full. The JCPOA limited the Islamic Republic’s nuclear development.
