Ukraine: collapse of ammunition industry was stated

There is no ammunition industry in Ukraine, it must be created from scratch, said in an interview with “RBC -Ukraine ” acting general director state concern” Ukroboronprom ” Igor Fomenko .

“Unfortunately, there is no ammunition industry left in Ukraine, it, in fact, needs to be created from the very beginning. Starting from small calibers to large ones. Now all this is being purchased. Of course, warehouse remains are also used, but among them there are some that have already reached the end of their service life, they sometimes lose their characteristics during the time they are in warehouses, “Fomenko stated the collapse of the industry.

He recalled that the Ukrainian side signed a contract with the American company GreyFox, which received an advance payment, but did not supply large-caliber shells. “Artem won the court with them in the Stockholm Arbitration, now the task is to implement this decision,” Fomenko said.

At the same time, he expressed the hope that in December the authorities will make a decision, thanks to which the work on the creation of the ammunition industry and the acquisition of the necessary equipment will continue. Fomenko clarified that payments and supplies for the purchase of equipment should be unblocked.

Earlier, the Luhansk cartridge plant, which produced ammunition, worked in Ukraine. Since 2014, it has been located on the territory of Donbass, which is not controlled by the Ukrainian side.
